With Helio and Nellie approaching retirement, they sought out to pass the reigns over to a new owner that was like-minded and who could usher the business into a new era. The business was acquired by Noah Allam who has over 30 years experience in the Automotive industry and together with our longest serving team member, Michael McGuire (as workshop manager and head service advisor) we expanded Central Autohaus into its new location.
We designed and built a state of the art workshop with double the hoists, brand new tools and equipment and teamed up with “Autonet” – our paint & panel shop. We are now a one stop shop for all of your automotive needs offering car servicing and repair, along with accident damage, vehicle wrapping, paint and panel, commercial vehicle signage and much more!
Central Autohaus celebrated our 30 year milestone by hosting a party for our customers and we were blown away by the turn out. It was a true testament to our loyal customers who had stuck with us and helped grow our business almost entirely through word of mouth. It was incredible to see how may of our customers had been with us since day one!
Our team members were also pivotal to our success with several of our most experienced having over a decade of history with us, lending their expertise to the rest of our team.
We continued to invest in our staff & training and always looked for new ways expand our range of services and ad value for our loyal customers. We added new courtesy cars to our fleet, increased our turn around times for servicing and built strong relationships with Australia’s leading suppliers ensuring our commitment to providing the best quality parts at competitive pricing.
2008 marked our next big milestone as we made the move to 76 McEvoy Street – A state of the art workshop & customer lounge that we had architecturally designed and built just as we had envisioned many years ago.
Customer experience was a key part of the design influence – we now offered a beautiful customer lounge, a complimentary refreshments bar, as well as a work space with internet access.
In the workshop all new diagnostic equipment, tooling and hoists truly made our new home cutting edge. It was here that our trademarked our hanging engine window display.
In the 10 years since our launch we turned our focus towards growing and developing our quickly expanding team. That meant hiring the best service advisors and technicians and providing ongoing training and development to stay at the forefront of quickly evolving automotive technology.
We dedicated ourselves to providing a friendly and welcoming customer experience and established ourselves in the community as the go-to European specialists. Our little family business was well on its way to becoming what we’d always envisioned.
Helio & Nellie’s journey began in June of 1985 when an opportunity presented itself to provide an alternative to the existing mechanics in the area. They had a strong vision for Central Autohaus: A European specialist mechanic with unparalleled customer service provided by the most skilled and knowledgeable staff.
With this goal in mind they set about building their dream. It required a lot of hard work and perseverance, but through their dedication to staff development & and their passion for the Automotive industry they were able to grow from strength to strength.
