Important Takata Airbag Recall

The ACCC (Australian Competition & Consumer Commission) has advised that they have discovered a highly dangerous manufacturing flaw in airbags made by the company ‘Takata’ that are used in a wide range of vehicles in Australia. Drivers are strongly urged to check if their vehicle is on the recall list to have the problem rectified as soon as possible. One Takata airbag in particular, called the Alpha model is particularly dangerous and requires immediate replacement. The ACCC believes there are approximately 50,000 vehicles in Australia fitted with the Alpha airbag. All owners whose vehicle is listed on the full recall list are advised to contact their dealer as soon as possible. Some of the makes affected are Audi, BMW, Saab, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda, Volkswagen and more. To find out if your car is affected you can check on the ACCC website here or give us a call and we can advise you. If you are located in the Sydney City area you can even stop by at our Alexandria workshop and we can advise you right away.
